Frequently Asked Questions
This is the first and most asked question, and quite rightly too! Nobody wants to spend more than they need to, and I don’t want to charge more than I have to. That said, it’s very difficult to give a price as every website I create is unique and takes a different amount of time and resources. However I do appreciate you may want to know a rough price before getting in touch so I can say that for a simple WordPress website, without any eCommerce features or anything funky, we would quote around £450. eCommerce websites would be more, how much more depends on your specific requirements.
While there are no hidden fees, it’s important to be aware of some additional costs that may be involved. You’ll require a website host which is where your site will live. I offer this service along with backups for £10 per month. If you would like us to manage updates for your WordPress software and plugins, in addition to providing an hour of our expertise each month for content updates, I charge £60 per month for this service. The only other expense to consider is your domain name, which generally costs around £15 per year for a .com.
After we’ve discussed what is required I can get an initial design online for you to view, usually within a week or two. After a design has been agreed you will then need to provide the content which I will then add to your new website. In total, it usually takes around a month from initial discussions to your new website going live if content is provided quickly. Obviously more complicated websites will take longer.
I take great pride in working with charities and community organisations. Whenever possible, I offer discounted services to support their invaluable efforts. View our charities page for more details.
I don't specifically look to work with larger organisation because I know my limitations and what larger businesses need in terms of support and resources. Having worked for larger companies in the past I know they often require 24/7 support, super fast SLAs and often dedicated servers to cope with their demand. As a sole trader, while I may be able to help with larger companies, I don't want to put any clients in a situation where their digital platform suffers.
I always prefer to under promise and over deliver rather than the other way around...
